Painting Projects:
  • Holy Cross – 1987 wing
  • Holy Name of Mary – washrooms and corridors
  • St. Mary, Carleton Place – library and exterior doors
  • St. John Bosco – washrooms
  • St. Gregory – washrooms
  • Notre Dame – lockers and interior metal doors in gym area
  • St. John High – walls, doors and frames in a section of the second floor
  • St. Peter – complete first floor
  • St. Francis Xavier High – 8 portable classrooms
  • St. Joseph Secondary - library
 
Flooring Projects:
  • St. John Elem. – replaced flooring in one portable
  • St. Mary, Carleton Place – replaced carpet in library
  • St. John High – replaced flooring in 3 portable classrooms and refinished flooring in woodworking shop
  • St. Mary High – replaced carpet in chapel, guidance area, student services and library
  • St. Michael – replaced flooring in 5 portables
  • St. Jude – replaced flooring in portables
  • Immaculate Conception – gym floor was replaced with a new Pulastic rubber floor  and 2 portable classroom floors were replaced
  • St. George – new flooring in the portable hallway and staff room
  • St. Francis Xavier High – replaced rubber floor in gymnasium and new flooring in 2 portables
  • St. Joseph Secondary – carpet replaced in the library and new flooring in 2 portables
     
Security Cameras
  • Security cameras were installed on the interior and exterior at the following schools:

-St. John High
-St. Mary High
-St. Matthew
-Notre  Dame
-St. Luke
 

Fencing and Landscaping Projects:
  • New baseball backstop installed at St. Joseph, Toledo, St. Mark and Sacred Heart, Lanark
  • New fencing installed at St. Mary, Chesterville with 10 foot high mesh for safety measures
  • Repaired fence at Mother Teresa and the garbage enclosure was re-fenced
  • Landscaping work was completed at Notre Dame, St. John High, St. Mary High, Smiths Falls Board Office, Kemptville Board Office, Holy Name of Mary, St. John Bosco and St. Michael
  • Mulch added to J. L. Jordan
     


Mulch was added to the J.L. Jordan Playground

Playground, Gym Equipment, Shop Inspections and Repairs

  • All play structures were inspected for CSA deficiencies – any deficiencies were addressed
  • All gymnasium equipment was inspected and repairs were completed
  • Health and Safety inspections completed on school shops – Maintenance addressed the deficiencies and repairs
  • New swings were installed at Holy Cross
  • Play structure was relocated from the former St. Mark’s to the new St. Mark’s
  • Play structure at St. Patrick was replaced due to vandalism
  • Play structure at St. George and St. Peter were repaired
  • New play structure was installed by parents group at Sacred Heart in Lanark and at St. Joseph, Toledo
  • Wood mulch and borders were replaced at St. Columban's
     
Roofing Projects
  • Roof replaced over the original building at St. John Elem.
  • Pope John Paul II had 6700 sq. ft. of roofing replaced
  • Roof over the portables at Immaculate were replaced
  • Roof over the principal’s office at St. Peter was replaced
  • Roof replaced over the original building at St. Francis Xavier, Hammond
     


Portable Installations
  • 1 portable installed at St. Anne – 6 new parking spots and garbage enclosure relocated
  • 3 portables installed at St. Matthews and portable on site relocated
  • 4 portables installed at St. Thomas Aquinas – new parking area and fire hydrant
     


Demolition Projects
  • Shalom House was demolished and new retaining walls were constructed to address grade changes. 
  • St. Columban’s East was demolished – abatement took place for asbestos, lead paint, PCB’s and mercury
     

Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical
  • Four schools received electrical upgrades to accommodate additional computers
  • Holy Name of Mary and Mother Teresa received new DDC controls for energy conservation
  • St. John High received one new make-up air unit to replace non-repairable one
  • Bishop MacDonnell received new drinking fountains
  • St. Andrew’s received new sewage pumps
  • Worked in conjunction with UCDSB to replace cooling tower at St. Joseph, Secondary
     
ODA
  • Handicap lift installed on stage at St. John High School
  • Vinyl tile installed at St. John Bosco
  • Accessible washroom installed at St. Francis Xavier High
  • Card swipe installed on the elevator at Notre Dame
  • Installed handicap door operators at Pope John Paul on main front entrance door
  • Renovated washrooms at Our Lady of Good Counsel
  • Front door revisions and library infill of pit for wheelchair safety at Pope John Paul
     
Paving Projects
  • St. Peter received replacement paving at the rear of the school
  • St. Columban’s East received new paving in the bus route
  • Sacred Heart, Cornwall received new paving in 50% of the back play area
     
Other Projects
  • St. Finnan’s project continued with the completion of Phase 2 in which classrooms were renovated on the South East wing, complete with new mechanical heating cooling, new lighting, window coverings, painting, millwork, ceilings and flooring
     
Capital Projects

St. Joseph Catholic School, Toledo
The final phase started in early June.  The portables were removed from site, the special education and kindergarten rooms were refurbished, and walls, etc., were added to complete the interior building portion.  The exterior landscaping, stairs, curbs and paving was completed.  The school will be ready to receive students on September 8, 2009
 


St. Mark, Catholic School, Prescott
St. Joseph’s in Prescott was demolished.  Finishes were completed at St. Mark’s and paving was completed.  Landscaping is ongoing.  Custodians were cleaning and the furniture was  moved in.  The school received their students in the new constructed building September 8, 2009
 


Mother Teresa Catholic School, Russell
A 4 classroom addition has been completed and the annex demolished at Mother Teresa.  Custodial staff have been cleaning and furniture has been placed.  The addition was ready for students on September 8, 2009.
 


Drinking Water Testing and Remedial Work
  • All schools have been tested for lead to address the MOE requirements under the safe drinking water act
  • St. Francis de Sales received a new incoming water supply line to address the non-compliance of lead in the water
