French as a Second
Language

The ability to
communicate in French is a valuable skill, because French is one of
Canada’s two official languages and because it is a language used
widely around the world.
Some advantages of studying French:

Programs offered at the CDSBEO:
Elementary
-
Core French – Kindergarten to Grade 8
(30 to 40 minutes daily)

Extended French – 75 minutes daily
(French + one or more subjects)

Middle Immersion* – Gr. 5 to 8
-
Early Immersion * – Grade 1 to Grade
8
(* 150 minutes of French or half day)
Secondary (Grade 9 to 12)
