On behalf of the
Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario, it is my pleasure
to welcome your child, and your family, to the 2009-2010 school year.
Our new Board theme is "We walk in good company." This new theme
will encourage students and staff to look at Jesus as the Good
Shepherd.
His example of
leadership, compassion and concern for the most marginalized will
provide schools with many opportunities to reflect on their call to
bring about changes in our world.
The theme will also allow us to reflect on those that
journey with us now - our Clergy and religious leaders, family
members and those that help us to become the best we can be.
As I have mentioned many times before, Catholic
education goes well beyond the walls of our schools; it reaches out
to your home, our local communities, and parishes. Our Board’s
Catholic Education Coalition – a group of individuals from all
facets of our Catholic education community – teachers,
administrators, support staff, parents/guardians and parish priests
– will refocus this year. It will continue to work to strengthen the lines of communication among
our Catholic partners. We look forward to sharing our message with
communities across our system.
Once again, on behalf of the Catholic District School Board of
Eastern Ontario, thank you for choosing our Catholic school system
and entrusting us with the responsibility of educating your child's
heart, mind, body and soul.
Our dedicated staff is looking forward to providing excellence in
