Have you ever wondered how a students in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario schools move from being in the regular classroom to having an IEP or Special Education support?
Read the process outlined below. At any stage, the process can be stopped (if trouble is remedied) or continues to the next step (if trouble persists).
1. Referral to the in-school support team (CT discusses concerns with SERT).2. Observation in the classroom.
3. Assessment in the classroom.
4. Statement of needs based on all assessments and observations.
5. Individual Education Plan created.
6. Referrals to the IPRC.
7. Reviews, monitoring and transitions.
