At St. Francis we have a thriving academic community both within the student body and the staff. With a group of teachers and educational assistants who are experts in their respective fields, St. Francis offers students a strong academic base from which they can attend any post-secondary institute country wide. Within the teaching staff several Professional Learning Communities have been established in order to promote student success. With teams dedicated to Literacy, Numeracy, 7-10 Reading Comprehension and 7-9 EQAO Success, the administration, faculty and support staff are putting forth a concerted effort to ensure that our students are successful in high school as well as their lives thereafter.

At St.F.X we offer two specialist high skills major programs - Transportation as well as Travel & Tourism. The SHSM program is a bundle of 9 - 10 credits matched up with other certifications and experiential learning that is recognized by colleges and provides students with a red-seal diploma in that specialty. This involves double credits in grades 11 and 12 in this subject area and a minimum of 2 co-op credits. This program oftens leads to apprenticeship and/or college, but students can also go directly to the workplace or to university.
As part of Ms. Shane's math class, students built paper bridges and measured how much weight they could hold. Hands on - Minds on!
Attention Students, Parents and Guardians:
St. FX has re-introduced Math Clinic for our grade 9 to 12 students. These
weekly help sessions will be held every Wednesday from 3:35 to 5:05 in room B06.
There will always be at least 2 teachers in attendance to help students with
homework, remedial work, reach ahead work, math contest practice and to write
practice tests, tests, quizzes or complete assignments. Students are strongly
encouraged to sign up for late buses and spend their Wednesday afternoons with
us. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Levac in Student Services or
any math teacher.
