NEWS FROM STUDENT SERVICES—JUNE, 2009

A good time was had by all at the Grad Retreat held at Chez Philias on May 20^th.  Students began the day with a Mass, then proceeded to Chez Philias for fun, games and lunch!  During the course of the day the students voted for Valedictorian, added their own personal artistic touch to our Graduation Remembrance, wrote in each other’s Graduation Journals, picked their seats for the Prom, and composed and performed some wonderful musical creations.

The “Safe Grad” was held on May 27^th at the school.  We would like to thank the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (especially, Nik Hotte), the Prescott-Russell Fire Department and Paramedics, the OPP and the RCMP for contributing to a very emotional and informative morning.  Mme Clermont and her group of wonderful actors did an outstanding  job of bringing the issue of teenagers and drinking/driving so vividly to life!  The afternoon was spent rehearsing for the Graduation Ceremony.

Important Dates and Information To Come for Grade 12 Students:

June 5^th:   The 2009 Graduation Mass will be held in the school gym at 10:00am.  All parents and guardians are invited!  This is a wonderful opportunity to honour our graduates in a spiritual way.

June 19^th:  The Prom (at the Chateau Laurier).   Please make plans to submit the remainder (or full payment by) very soon—the deadline is past!  See Mrs. Mulligan for details.

June 24^th:   The Graduation Ceremony!!  The ceremony this year will be held in the school gym, at 4:00pm.  Please tell family and friends now.  Formal invitations will be sent out later in the semester.  There is a cost to each student of $30.00.  This will cover gown rentals, portfolios, etc.   If graduating students, or their parents have any questions concerning these items, please speak to or call Mrs. Gusen or Mr. Levac.
