Opening & Welcome – Meeting called to order by chair Melissa Marcellus at 7:03pm
Mary Ellen James led council in prayer.
Approval of Agenda – Motioned by Catherine Italiano, seconded by Rose Everett
Approval of minutes dated (June 1 2011) – Motioned by Laura Tingley, seconded by Rose Everett
Principal’s Address – Mr. Guertin
-to date current # of students enrolled at MTCS is 435
-meet the teacher night Thursday September 22 from 6:30-8:00pm
-New parish priest Father Paul will be coming to the school September 21 2011
-Cross country meet will be October 7th (no rain date will be scheduled)
-Faith development day Friday September 30th (PD day for students)
Entire board, including secretaries, janitors will attend.
Treasurer’s Report – Not Available
Teacher’s Address – Mrs. Guertin
-Request for parent council to supply apples for walk-a-thon October 14th 2011
Parish Report –Mary Ellen James
-Children’s Liturgy will be offered at the
9:00am service only.
-October 16th Father Paul will be officially welcomed to our parish community. Father Joe Muldoon will preside – all are welcome to attend a celebration following mass downstairs hosted by the Knights of Columbus
Volunteer Report – Michele Ohler
-New form was sent home for parent volunteers
Chair’s Report – Melissa Marcellus
-Parent council donated $500 to support the Holmes family.
-The following dates are for fundraisers to help support Matthew Holmes and his Family
Saturday September 17th from 10:30am to 2pm- Join Alison Moy in a special card making class for Matthew, there will also be a silent auction with proceeds going to support the Holmes.
October 21st the Candle lighters of Ottawa will be holding a dinner. Cost will be $50 a plate with fifty percent of the proceeds going to the Holmes family.
November 30th Blood donor clinic
-Karyn Pascoe has put her name forward to be Treasurer for the parent council 2011-2012 school year
Melissa Marcellus motioned for Karyn Pascoe to be Treasurer, approved by consensus.
-NOTE- The bank account for MTCS will now have the names of Karyn Pascoe (Treasurer), Melissa Marcellus (Chair) and David Guertin (Principal)
-Grant for $1000.00 approved by Ministry of Education for a Parent lending library for our school, books will be available for parents in MTCS community.
-Milk Program-Chantal Batchilder
-price of milk has had a small increase, parent council has decided at this time not to increase the price of milk.
-500ml of milk will no longer be available to order (set by the Ministry of Education).
-the milk supplier will be reviewed and potential suppliers will be looked into.
-Melissa Marcellus motioned to remove juice from the milk program, motioned approved by consensus.
-milk order forms will be sent home this coming Friday, September 16th 2011. Milk program will begin Monday October 3rd 2011. (No late orders will be accepted). (Changed start date after meeting to October 11th due to time constraints when placing order for milk).
-Food program will be run by Caroline Patterson and Rose Everett.
-Godfathers has been approved by the Ministry of Education as a healthy choice.

-Nomination forms for the 2011-2012 parent council will be going home this Friday, 16th 2011.
-New thermo bags for the milk and food program will be purchased.
