CDSBEO Summer Programs for Secondary & Adult Learners

Secondary Students

Summer Online Courses – Registration is now open!

The CDSBEO is pleased to offer online credit courses for the summer session. Courses will start on July 4 and run until July 27, 2022. The deadline for registration is June 17, 2022.

Registration opens May 11, and a course listing is available here.

Please register through your high school guidance counsellor.  

Reach Ahead Credit Program – Registration is now open!

Current Grade 8 students transitioning to Grade 9 can earn a full credit before starting high school. This year, the CDSBEO will be offering the following courses to all grade 8 students who will transition to Grade 9 in the fall:

  • Learning Strategies 1: Skills for Success in Secondary School, (GLS1O) (English or French Immersion)
  • Healthy Living and Personal and Fitness Activities (PAF1O)
  • International Languages – Spanish, Level 1, Academic (LWSBD)

These courses can be taken individually and will be offered online. Please contact the guidance department at the school your child will be attending for grade 9 to register. 

Summer Cooperative Education (Registration Coming Soon)

The CDSBEO Summer Co-op program allows current secondary and adult students to earn one or two co-op credits during the summer. Placements are restricted to the CDSBEO regional boundaries and students are responsible for finding their own placements. 

The summer co-op program begins June 29, and finishes August 5, 2022.  

Please contact the guidance department at the school to register.

Grade 7-8 Summer Camps

The CDSBEO is once again hoping to offer in person summer camps for students entering grade 7-8 in September who may need skill building in the areas of literacy and numeracy. Camps are currently being finalized and board offerings will be posted at the start of June along with registration information. 


Adult Learners

Personal Support Worker Program

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario Personal Support Worker is a full-time (36 hours per week Monday – Friday Approx. 8:30am-3:30pm) secondary credit program and is recognized as meeting the requirements set out by the Ministry of Health and follows the training standards set by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities.

The program can be completed over a 5-month period of time beginning in either September or February. Registration for September 2022 opens May 4th, 2022.

Our September program is anticipated to be offered in the following locations based on sufficient student enrollment: Alexandria, Brockville, Smiths Falls, Cornwall and Petawawa.

Please keep your eye on our Facebook and website for updates on the September 2022 program. An information session will be held on May 3, at 6:00 pm for the September program. Please note, government sponsorship for tuition and stipend support has been extended for the 2022/2023 school year.
