60th World Day of Communications

Today, the CDSBEO joins Catholics around the world in observing the 60th World Day of Communications.

In this year’s message, “Preserving Human Voices and Faces,” Pope Leo XIV reflects on the importance of protecting human dignity and authentic relationships in an increasingly digital world shaped by artificial intelligence and technology.

The Holy Father reminds us that communication is more than simply sharing information. It is a way to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and recognize the value of each person. He encourages all people to use communication with responsibility, compassion, and care for one another.

As a Catholic learning community, the CDSBEO is committed to supporting respectful, faith-filled communication that reflects the teachings of Christ and supports belonging within our schools and communities.

World Day of Communications is celebrated annually on the Sunday before Pentecost and invites us to reflect on how media and technology can be used to promote truth, hope, and human connection.
