Teacher Application Procedures for Occasional Teachers, LTO, and Casual Positions

New Applicants

Please submit a complete Application Package for any posted opportunities listed below. A complete Application Package includes:

  • Résumé
  • A completed CDSBEO Catholic Faith Portfolio 2025-2026 (available under Resource Downloads), if applicable
  • Copy of a valid Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Two professional letters of reference
  • Copies of teaching evaluation reports and copies of university transcripts
  • Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

Eligibility for Permanent Teaching Positions

In addition to the above noted application package, to be considered for permanent teaching roles, applicants must meet and submit at least one of the following criteria:

  • Submission of a Pastoral Reference Form as found in Part V of the CDSBEO Faith Portfolio 2025-2026
  • Completion of Religious Education Part 1 (AQ Course) and submission of the CDSBEO Catholic Faith Portfolio
  • Completion of the CDSBEO Catholic Faith Foundations Program and submission of the CDSBEO Catholic Faith Portfolio
  • Completion of a Religious Education course approved by the Board and submission of the CDSBEO Catholic Faith Portfolio

Important Notes

  • Ontario College of Teachers registration must be in good standing.
  • A current, acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required dated within the last six months.
