Direction of School Support
By registering your child into a Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario school, you have chosen to support Catholic education through direction of your school support. As an English Separate School Supporter, you are investing in the future of Catholic education, you are a partner with Catholic education, and you help foster a strong political voice through your elected representative (Trustee).
As a property owner in Ontario, you are required to support a school board. You can designate yourself as an English Separate School Supporter, even if you do not have children or your children are not currently attending a CDSBEO school. If you have recently moved, the designation does not follow you when you relocate. It is essential that you update your school support designation as an English Separate School Supporter.
MPAC (Municipal Property Assessment Corporation) has launched an online portal to allow property owners or tenants registered with MPAC to designate/change their school support on the online portal. To access the online portal and change your school support designation, please visit www.mpac.ca/schoolsupport. A step-by-step guide has been created by MPAC to walk you through the process of viewing and/or updating your school support. All you need is your Roll Number, which can be found on your Property Assessment Notice. Or as a new user, you can call 1-866-296-6722 to register.
To view the guide please visit: MPAC School Support Guide
Alternatively, you can print the Application for Direction of School Support and Separate School Support Lease (found below under Additional Resources), fill it out and drop it off at any CDSBEO school.
If you have any questions about changing your school designation, please call 613-258-7757.
Have you moved?
Even if you have been an English Separate supporter in the past, the designation does not follow you when you relocate. Each time you move, it is essential that you re-declare yourself as a Catholic school supporter.
