2025 YourTV Youth Achievement Awards 

CDSBEO is excited to share the successes of students who were recognized at the 2025 YourTV Youth Achievement Awards! This event, powered by the Optimist Club of Cornwall, was held on June 12th at the Civic Complex in Cornwall. It celebrated the exceptional contributions and achievements of 24 young people, including students from CDSBEO schools. 

Students were recognized in three main categories: “At My Best,” “Giving Back,” and “Kindness is Cool.” They were celebrated for their achievements in academics, athletics, music, art, writing, and drama, as well as their contributions to important causes, and acts of kindness and heroism. 

Before leaving the stage, each honouree had the special opportunity to sign the City of Cornwall’s official Book of Recognition, marking their achievement in the community’s history.  

Youth Achievement Award Winners & Finalists  

At My Best  

Honours outstanding performance in academics, athletics, music, art, writing, or drama.  

  • Winner: Abbie Campos, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School (Grade 7/8) 
  • Finalist: Karagan King, St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School (Grade 7/8) 
  • Winner: Cale Pettem from St. Matthew Catholic Secondary School (Grade 11/12) 

Giving Back 

Celebrates exceptional volunteers who have contributed to causes such as the environment and inclusivity.  

  • Winner: Kairi Harrop, St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School (Grade 7/8) 
  • Finalist: Blake Ieropoli, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School (Grade 7/8) 
  • Winner: Molly Wright, St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School (Grade 9/10) 
  • Finalist: Heidi Baumann, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School (Grade 9/10) 
  • Winner: Grace Shoniker, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School (Grade 11/12) 

Kindness Is Cool 

Recognizes acts of kindness or heroism with no personal gain.  

  • Winner: Callah Clark, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School (Grade 7/8) 
  • Finalist: Elina Gracian Hudson, St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School (Grade 7/8) 
  • Winner: Hunter Looyen, St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School (Grade 9/10) 
  • Finalist: Hudson Gibbs, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School (Grade 9/10) 
  • Winner: Emma Marion, St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School (Grade 11/12)
