CDSBEO Schools Supporting Reconciliation and Community Healing

Reconciliation is a shared responsibility. Across CDSBEO schools, students and staff are supporting community-led initiatives that honour truth and encourage healing.

For many years, students from St. Mary CHS, St. Francis Xavier CHS, St. Joseph’s CSS, Holy Trinity CSS, and St. Thomas Aquinas CHS have helped care for Plenty Canada’s Healing Place Garden by planting, weeding, harvesting, and beautifying the space.

Just recently, the CDSBEO Indigenous Education Team delivered new art pieces created by Renee Lalande’s art students at Holy Trinity, in partnership with Haudenosaunee community partner Katie Lamarche-Francis.

Our community also continues to support Truth and Reconciliation Banners for the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne and the City of Cornwall’s annual Orange Shirt Day event—reminding us that reconciliation reaches beyond our schools.

Thank you to all students and staff for your commitment to the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, both within our schools and throughout our communities.
