Tuesday, September 15 is National IT Professionals Day! On this day, we recognize the dedicated IT Professionals who play a vital role in supporting schools and departments across the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.  

In recognition of this special day, we highlight Shawn Dumond, Systems Analyst at the Cornwall Board Office. Known for his technical creativity, attention to detail, dedication, and skill, Shawn approaches every task with care and commitment, maintaining high standards whether troubleshooting a complex technical challenge or supporting the day-to-day technology needs of our schools and offices.   

“Technology should reduce complexity, not add to it,” says Shawn – and that philosophy really does capture how he approaches his role. Rather than just addressing the immediate issue, he looks at the bigger picture to find solutions that improve the overall system or process. His focus is on making technology reliable and practical for the people who depend on it, ensuring that staff and students have what they need to do their best work and learning.  

The work of our IT Professionals happens every day behind the scenes. Their expertise, problem-solving, and quiet dedication keep our Board running every single day. We thank all CDSBEO IT Professionals for the essential role they play in supporting our staff, students, and school communities.
