National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day

Friday, October 2 is National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day! On this day, we recognize the dedicated custodial staff who play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming, and well-maintained learning and working environments across the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.
In recognition of this special day, we are pleased to highlight Brian Lafrance, custodian at Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School. For the past 25 years, Brian has demonstrated unwavering dedication to CDSBEO and the school communities he has served. Although he began his new role at Holy Trinity in September, his commitment was especially evident this past summer at St. Anne Catholic School, where he helped prepare the school for the new year while supporting several significant construction projects.
Through his hard work, professionalism, and attention to detail, Brian helped ensure that staff and students returned to a safe, welcoming, and fully operational learning environment for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
“A strong foundation needs strong footing, and at CDSBEO, that footing is our employees. I’m proud to stand alongside colleagues who support and strengthen our school communities every day, and I’m grateful to be highlighted on National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day.”
The work of our custodial staff happens every day, often behind the scenes. Their care, professionalism, and dedication help keep our schools and workplaces safe, welcoming, and ready for learning. We thank all CDSBEO custodial workers for the essential role they play in supporting our staff, students, and school communities.
