CDSBEO Honours Long-Serving Employees at Annual Welcome Back Celebration

The CDSBEO recognized employees who have dedicated 25 or more years of service to Catholic education during the Board’s annual Welcome Back celebration, held on August 25, at St. Michael Catholic High School.

Employees celebrating significant service milestones were invited to attend the presentation and received a branded sweatshirt featuring a special 25- or 35-year service logo as a lasting reminder of their dedicated service to CDSBEO. Special recognition was given to employees who have dedicated 35 or more years to the Board.

“Reaching these remarkable milestones reflects an extraordinary commitment to Catholic education and to the students, families and communities we serve,” said Shelley Montgomery, CEO. “We are deeply grateful for the knowledge, leadership and care these employees have shared throughout their careers. Their contributions have helped shape our schools and strengthen our Catholic learning communities.”

Board Chair Chris Cummings also expressed appreciation for the recipients and the lasting impact of their service.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I extend my sincere congratulations and gratitude to each of our long-serving employees,” said Chair Cummings. “Their dedication is a powerful example of service, faith and commitment. We are honoured to recognize the important role they have played in supporting generations of CDSBEO students.”

The recognition presentation formed part of CDSBEO’s annual Welcome Back celebration, a cherished tradition that brings employees together in prayer and reflection at the beginning of a new school year. The morning began with greetings from Cummings and Montgomery, followed by Mass celebrated by Archbishop Emeritus Brendan O’Brien of the Archdiocese of Kingston, with Father John Whyte.

New CDSBEO employees also received a special blessing and their official Board pin. Following the service and recognition presentation, employees gathered for a light lunch and an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues as they prepared for the year ahead.

CDSBEO congratulates all employees recognized for reaching these significant career milestones and thanks them for their dedicated service to Catholic education.
