CDSBEO Students Honour Retirees with Handmade Gifts

The CDSBEO Retirement Celebration for the 2025-2026 school year took place on Friday, May 22, 2026, at eQuinelle Golf Club in Kemptville. During the celebration, retirees were presented with handcrafted charcuterie boards created by talented CDSBEO students.

Grades 10-12 students in the Construction Technology classes at St. Michael Catholic High School and Notre Dame Catholic High School crafted the boards from soft maple and cherry wood under the guidance of teachers Mr. Wesley Campeau and Mr. Eric Young. Each board also featured engraved CDSBEO and school logos, along with a special thank you message for retirees. Retirement Committee lead Judith Beriault added the finishing touches with mustards, spreads, and chocolates from local businesses.

For the past few years, CDSBEO students have proudly participated in creating these retirement gifts for staff members. These handcrafted keepsakes have become a meaningful tradition and are a special reminder of the lasting impact retirees have had on students and schools across the board. The CDSBEO is grateful to the students and staff who continue to make these thoughtful gifts possible each year.
