CDSBEO is excited to welcome a group of international students from Ho Ngai College in Hong Kong to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School for a short-term study program.  

On May 7th, all 10 visiting students shared their culture with Ms. Barrett’s class, which is exploring diverse cultures as part of a special learning project. During their presentation, the students introduced Ho Ngai College, shared insights about their school life, and talked about their favourite food and meals in their home. Students asked questions about Chinese culture and the international students’ learning experience at St. Thomas Aquinas. 

A highlight of the visit was a special performance by two students who are members of the Lion Dance Club at Ho Ngai College. They demonstrated the vibrant Chinese tradition of lion dancing, a lively performance that symbolizes joy and good fortune. CDSBEO students even had a chance to try lion dancing themselves, creating a memorable, hands-on cultural experience. 

This cultural exchange allowed students from both schools to learn from one another, appreciate their differences, and form new friendships.
