CDSBEO Welcomes New International Students
On September 10, the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) welcomed new international students from more than 10 countries during a special welcome meeting in Ottawa.
The event provided an opportunity for students to meet members of the CDSBEO team, learn more about the supports available to them and connect with other international students as they begin their studies in Canada.
CDSBEO Superintendent Heather Gerber welcomed the students and shared warm remarks, wishing them a successful school year as they begin this new experience.
Students also received information about important supports available throughout their time in Canada. The meeting also included CDSBEO International Student Volunteer Buddies. These students will continue to provide friendship, guidance and individual support to new international students throughout their school experience.
As part of the day, students visited the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa. The visit gave students an opportunity to explore the nation’s history and culture while getting to know more about their new surroundings.
CDSBEO is pleased to welcome these new students and looks forward to supporting them as they learn, grow and build connections during their time in Canada.
