Saturday, January 17^th is Educational Assistant Appreciation Day! On this day, we recognize the dedicated Educational Assistants who support student well-being and success across the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario. 

In recognition of this special day, we highlight Sophie Sabourin-Filliol, a CDSBEO Educational Assistant with more than 20 years of experience. For the past six years, Sophie has been an important part of the team at St. Matthew Catholic Secondary School. She brings enthusiasm, patience, and compassion to every space she supports. 

Sophie plays a key role in helping ensure students are well-fed and ready to learn by leading the lunch portion of the school’s food program. In hospitality, she helps students prepare daily meals, and once lunch begins, she makes sure no student is left hungry. Her quiet leadership and care help students return to class focused and supported. 

While much of Sophie’s work happens behind the scenes, her impact is felt every day. We thank Sophie and all CDSBEO Educational Assistants for the vital role they play in supporting students and school communities.
