Highlights from the First CDSBEO Student Senate Meeting of 2025-2026

On October 22, 2025, student leaders from across CDSBEO secondary schools gathered at the Kemptville Board Office for the first Student Senate Meeting of the 2025-2026 school year. The meeting and breakout sessions were designed to inspire, connect, and equip student leaders with practical leadership skills.
The morning’s main presentation, led by Trustees Malunda and Baumann, focused on skill development and leadership. This session equipped students with practical strategies for effective leadership, including the importance of communication.
The breakout session invited participants to reflect on “What Does Leadership Mean to Me?” Students explored their personal motivations for leading, how to remain authentic while representing others, and the kind of leader they aspire to become this year. Sharing insights from these conversations sparked deeper connections and a sense of shared purpose.

During the networking session students engaged in discussions around Student Voice, School Culture & Spirit, Climate and Sustainability, Faith and Values, Mental Health & Wellbeing, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. These conversations allowed students to share ideas, brainstorm solutions, and find inspiration in each other’s experiences.
The day’s agenda offered practical tools and meaningful conversations for student leaders in CDSBEO secondary schools.
