On Thursday, September 28, the CDSBEO gathered in partnership with the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education, Upper Canada District School Board, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, and the City of Cornwall at Lamoureux Park, to amplify the message that Every Child Matters in the city and region.

Residents and visitors to the City of Cornwall will notice an orange banner at the Clock Tower in Lamoureux Park that reads:

ON SEPTEMBER 30th WE OBSERVE NATIONAL DAY OF TRUTH & RECONCILIATION
HONOURING RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL SURVIVORS, THEIR FAMILES, AND COMMUNITIES

It is our hope that this banner will act as a reminder of the importance of reconciliation and working toward completing all 94 Calls to Action set out by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC).
