St. Michael CHS Student Earns Bronze Medal at Canada-Wide Science Fair

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario is proud to congratulate St. Michael Catholic High School student Liam West on earning a Senior Bronze Medal at the 2026 Canada-Wide Science Fair.
Held from May 23–30 at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, the Canada-Wide Science Fair is the country’s largest annual youth STEM event. The fair brings together hundreds of the top young scientists, engineers, and innovators from across Canada who have advanced through regional science fairs to showcase their research and discoveries on a national stage.
Representing both St. Michael Catholic High School and the Rideau St. Lawrence Regional Science Fair, Liam was recognized for his project, Damage-Induced Response. His achievement reflects a strong commitment to scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and innovation.
Congratulations to Liam on this outstanding accomplishment. The CDSBEO celebrates his success and the dedication that led to this national recognition.
We also extend our thanks to the Rideau St. Lawrence Regional Science Fair for providing students with opportunities to pursue their interests in science and innovation. We look forward to seeing more CDSBEO students participate in next year’s competition.
