The annual Welcome Back celebration is a cherished tradition at CDSBEO. Held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the event marked the beginning of a new school year and gave staff an opportunity to come together in prayer and reflection, while renewing their commitment to the mission and values of the Board. 

Staff from across CDSBEO gathered at St. Michael Catholic High School for this year’s celebration. The morning began with greetings from Board Chair Chris Cummings and CEO Shelley Montgomery, followed by Mass celebrated by Archbishop Brendan O’Brien of the Archdiocese of Kingston, with Father John Whyte. 

As part of the celebration, new CDSBEO employees received a special blessing and their official Board pin. Staff members celebrating 25 or more years of service were also recognized with a special gift in recognition of their years of service. 

The morning concluded with a light lunch, where staff had the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and enjoy time together as the new school year begins.
