Educating and Inspiring… heart, mind, body, and soul!

Local Government Week

Each year, municipalities across the province recognize this 3rd week in October as Local Government Week. The aim of this initiative is to increase awareness among youth and the public about the important role local government plays in our communities. Schools and municipalities are encouraged to educate students and bring focus to the importance of local civic institutions.

This year, Local Government Week takes place October 15-21, which also aligns with the start of CDSBEO Week, and today is connected to C for Community. For Catholic school boards across Ontario, Catholic Trustees provide a distinct and crucial service to their school communities. As the democratically elected representative for publicly funded Catholic schools, Catholic school board trustees serve as stewards and advocates for Catholic education and govern Catholic school systems across the province.
